So you see.

I'm on the third floor of an office building in PG. Theres a spider outside my window that has made a thread and is holding on tightly while it blows around... I wonder if his butt is clenched very tightly around it or if he's just holding it with his spider hands.

I've included a picture to illustrate what I'm talking about.

  2. OK, they don't push the silk out of their butt.
When I researched it, I discovered that the process has a lot of similarities to how I take a poo:
The spider pushes the liquid solution through long ducts

Each spigot has a valve that controls the thickness and speed of the extruded material.

Spiders can also vary fiber consistency by adjusting the spigots to form smaller or larger strands.

Spiders might coat fiber in a sticky substance, for example, or a waterproof material.

Spider silk is incredibly strong and flexible. Some varieties are five times as strong as an equal mass of steel and twice as strong as an equal mass of Kevlar.

  3. That reminds me. I forgot to ask you: Do you like maple syrup? How about maple bars? You know. They are like doughnuts only they are bars instead of round and they have maple flavored frosting. Where does one acquire good doughnuts these days? And don't tell me Wal-mart because that is a lie.

  4. Holy Cannoli! Maple doughnuts are my absolute favorite thing EVER!! I thought Macy's had the best doughnuts for awhile, but the last couple times I've gone they had no selection. I rarely shop there, though.

Spiders spin grosses out of their gross.
